The Powerhouse makes space for the transformative future of business education in Canada. Located next to the UBC Sauder School of Business, the flagship facility is currently under construction on the site of the former UBC Power House that supplied energy campuswide. The new building will provide students and faculty with versatile spaces, progressive programming and opportunities for learning, research and community engagement consistent with one of the world’s finest business schools. The expansion is not just about more space, it is about different space. The Powerhouse will connect UBC Sauder with other faculties and local and global partners to catalyze collaboration, innovation and community. Students will be challenged to expand theoretical understanding of business into real-life application through a strong focus on experiential learning and engaged connections with industry. The project is a collaboration of Patkau Architects and Acton Ostry Architects.
