Matt Wood is a Principal at Acton Ostry Architects with professional registration in British Columbia and the United Kingdom. He is a member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and he has completed the Passive House Canada designer certification program.
Matt is engaged in strategic planning for the practice with a focus on team resourcing and scheduling. He has played a pivotal role in the design of several prominent projects in his 15 years with AOA and is well-versed in sustainable design practices and mass timber design.
Matt is currently leading the multi-phase Woodland Park mixed-use residential neighbourhood development in Port Moody that includes one of BC Housing’s largest affordable housing developments. Matt led the design of the recently completed Passive House certified Gastown Child Care Centre located in historic Gastown and he was the project lead for the first-of-its-kind Brock Commons Tallwood House at the University of British Columbia, which was the tallest mass timber building in the world at the time of its completion.
