Mark Simpson is a principal at Acton Ostry Architects with professional registration in British Columbia. He is a member of Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC) and has completed the Passive House Canada designer certification program. 

Mark is actively involved in the operations and management of the studio with a focus on in-house mentorship. His 20 years of experience and background in engineering and Passive House design have contributed to the success of a wide range of cultural, educational and institutional projects. 

Mark is currently involved in the management of an ambitious redevelopment of the Jewish Community Centre HUB located in Vancouver’s Oakridge neighbourhood. He recently led the design of the Lord Tennyson School and Child Care, an innovative partnership between the Vancouver School Board and the City of Vancouver. Mark was the project lead for Spirit Bear Lodge and the Klemtu Health Centre, two unique developments for the Kitasoo Xai’xais First Nation that are rich in cultural iconography.
