Limberlost Place (FKA The Arbour) at George Brown College is a collaboration between Moriyama & Teshima Architects and Acton Ostry Architects that will transform the Toronto skyline with an eye-catching, exposed tall wood structure that will incorporate solar chimney systems to capture and harness light and air for natural ventilation and ground source geothermal energy for heating and cooling. Limberlost Place will serve as an educational hub for George Brown College and will include a Tall Wood Research Institute and a child care centre.
The 10 storey, 16,250 square-metre facility will mark an important step forward in the development of large span mass wood structures and is poised to be the first project of its kind in the world.
