Taylor Building
Completed in 2003, the 2,500 square metre Taylor Building is located in Vancouver’s historic Gastown district. The project is a rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of a former heritage warehouse into a mixed-use development with 22-units of market housing above ground floor commercial use.
The residential units are flexible and open to maximize use of natural light from the existing windows. Seismic upgrading is integrated with both a functional and aesthetic purpose. Finishes are held back from existing heavy timber, concrete and masonry components.
