Completed in 2020, the Sir Sandford Fleming Elementary School and Child Care Centre is an innovative partnership between the Vancouver School Board and the City of Vancouver developed in response to the full replacement of the original school building under the Ministry of Education Seismic Mitigation Program. The 3,700 square metre, LEED Gold-target facility features state-of-the-art 21st century learning environments on the first two levels with the 69-space Fraserview Child Development Centre occupying the third floor.

A day-lit central circulation spine runs the length of the building. Oriented to the east are four distinct blocks that house classroom and child care activities. To the west are large format spaces that include a gymnasium and a multipurpose room for the school and a dedicated rooftop play area for the child care centre. A new play field, landscaping, and wide variety of outdoor play areas surround the new school.
