2019 Canadian Interiors Best of Canada Award
The UBC Aquatic Centre has won the 2019 Canadian Interiors Best of Canada Award for Institutional design. The Canadian Interiors’ Best of Canada Design Competition is the country’s only design competition to focus on interior design projects and products without regard to size, budget or location.
AZ Awards honour The Arbour with Two Wins
The Arbour has won both the Best in Unbuilt Buildings and the People’s Choice Award at the 2019 Azure Magazine AZ Awards. The AZ Awards honour exceptional work being created in global architecture and design today. The Arbour was one of 20 recipients of the 1,175 submissions from 50 countries.
New Leadership Structure and Associates
Founding Principals Russell Acton and Mark Ostry are pleased to announce promotions within the AOA leadership team, as well as the addition of two new associates. Alan Davies and Alex Percy have been promoted to Principal, with Mark Simpson and Matt Wood promoted to Associate Principal. Michael Fugeta and Matthew Fellowshave been named as new Associates, joining Milos Bejovic, Ruth Chau, Derek Fleming, and Nate Straathof as associate members of the AOA Leadership Team. The new leadership structure marks the beginning of the next phase in the evolution and growth of Acton Ostry Architects.
Canadian Green Building Award Win
The Duke received a SAB Magazine Canadian Green Building Award at the Canadian Green Building Council National Conference in Vancouver. The award program recognizes excellence in the design and execution of Canadian residential and non-residential buildings of all types, including new construction, existing buildings, renovations and interior design projects. This is Acton Ostry Architects’ fifth SABMag award.
