Spectacular Views from New Gymnasium
A prefabricated, tension-membrane gymnasium is the latest addition to the West Point Grey Academy Vancouver campus. The new structure addresses the school’s pressing need for indoor athletic space. Expansive windows provide natural daylight and spectacular, sweeping views over Jericho Beach Park. Terraced landscaping mediates the steep hillside and is shaped and sculpted to encourage outdoor gathering, learning and play opportunities.

Manrell Hall Nearing Completion
Construction is nearing completion at Vancouver College’s new middle school, Manrell Hall, with most of the exterior finished and interior finishes in progress. The 4,088 square metre building, including a dining hall, learning commons and extensive informal learning spaces, is the first major phase in a comprehensive campus redevelopment. The second phase will replace the old school building with a new state-of-the-art elementary school. The project also includes a residence for Christian Brothers and the campus chapel, and will retain heritage elements from the original 1924 school building. It will be a busy summer, as the teachers and students move into Manrell Hall and construction begins on the new elementary school.
