Construction is proceeding well at the Vancouver College with major civil work completed during an intensive summer. The first phase will redevelop the site on which the Brothers Residence sits with a new Middle School, Manrell Hall that maximize shared spaces so all students can experience the uniqueness of a 21st century learning K-12 setting. The next major milestone is the concrete structure, which is scheduled for completion later in this fall, followed in short order by roofing and the envelope.
The University of British Columbia and the Whitecaps FC team celebrates the official opening of the National Soccer Development Centre on September 22, 2017. The first Whitecaps FC team moved in and started training at the new facility in June. The facility brings new amenities to Thunderbird Park including new grass and artificial turf fields, washrooms, locker rooms, and a concessions stand, and will serve as the training home of Whitecaps FC.
