A bosque of seventeen spruce trees (Picea bicolour) were recently hoisted by crane and placed atop The Independent. The evergreens range from three to five meters in height and are planted in a cascade of cubic planters. The tree-topped crown symbolizes the height to which the first-growth forest once soared and marks the summit of the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood in Vancouver’s skyline.
