Faith and Form Religious Architecture Award

Congregation Beth Israel received a Religious Architecture Award from Faith & Form Magazine and the Interfaith Forum on Religion, Art and Architecture.

The Awards program was founded in 1978 with the goal of honoring the best in architecture, liturgical design and art for religious spaces.

York House Senior School

Canadian Interiors Best of Canada

York House Senior School received Canadian Interiors Magazine Best of Canada award in the Institutional category to at IIDEX Canada in Toronto on December 2, 2015.

For 18 years, the Best of Canada Design Competition has been the country’s only design competition that focuses on interior design.

Completed in August 2013, York House Senior School provides a new identity for the greater York House School campus. The facility includes 3,345 square metre of classrooms and informal study space for students in grades eight through twelve.

UBC Aquatic Centre

American School & University Architectural Portfolio

The UBC Aquatic Centre has been awarded an Architectural Portfolio Citation for Work in Progress from the American School & University magazine.

Published in cooperation with the American Institute of Architects, the competition celebrates architects and education institutions for achievements in outstanding school design.

The UBC Aquatic Centre is a collaboration of MJMA (MacLennan Jaunkalns Miller Architects) and Acton Ostry Architects.

UBC Brock Commons Phase 1

Construction Underway

Construction has begun on the Brock Commons Phase 1 student residence project, one of the tallest mass timber buildings in the world. The 18 storey student residence building will provide housing for 404 students with a mix of studio and quad units. The structure is a hybrid system comprised of CLT floor slabs, glulam columns, steel connectors and concrete cores.

When completed in 2017 the $51.5 million project will stand 53 metres tall.
