Russell Acton is a Principal of the firm with professional registration in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario.
Russell has been a member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada since 1991 and was awarded Fellowship in 2009. He is a member of the Canada Green Building Council and the Canadian Passive House Institute.
Russell is currently a member of the City of Vancouver Urban Design Panel and has served on the City of Vancouver Development Permit Board Advisory Panel. Russell currently sits on the Board of Kenneth Gordon Maplewood School. He served on the Architectural Institute of British Columbia Registration Board and is a former Chair of the Architectural Technologist Admissions Committee.
Russell served as an evaluator for the Tall Wood Demonstration Projects Initiative sponsored by the Canadian Wood Council and National Resources Canada and sat on the Wood Innovation Design Centre Round Table sponsored by the BC Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation and the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. He also served on the Wood Demonstration Projects Evaluation Committee organized by the Wood Enterprise Coalition.
Russell received a Bachelor of Architecture, with distinction, from Carleton University and a Diploma in Building Technology, Architectural Major, from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
